So why do you need to apply moisturizer before makeup? Here goes:

One of the most effective ways to apply makeup is to ensure the foundation and/or concealer goes on evenly and smoothly. That is why you need to moisturize your skin with a gel-cream or cream that hydrates and gives the skin a more polished appearance. You will get a flawless and natural glow. Tinted products go on easily and blend well with your skin without creasing or flaking.

Applying makeup to oily skin is a tricky endeavor, because it can dissolve off the skin quickly, without leaving any trace behind. Moisturizing is necessary even if you are simply redoing your makeup (redoing and touch-ups aren’t the same). Using a facial moisturizer will hydrate and smooth out your skin, giving you the ideal complexion for applying your makeup look of choice. Freshly moisturized skin ensures your skin looks brighter and flawless. So even if you are in a hurry to get out of the door, skipping out on your moisturizing routine is a strict no-no.
